This photo seems serene but the Great Egret was being chased down by a Great Blue Heron. Shooting at Crissy Field for a few sunlit hours, the clouds rolled in and I called it a morning. Heading inside I heard the harsh "craaack" of the GBH and spun around in time to see this Egret heading my way. The clouds parted as it approached and this was the resulting image. Just a nice moment.
