Meadowlarks under Golden Gates

This morning as the sun ducked in and out of the receding clouds, there were at least 10 Western Meadowlarks rolling through the scrub near the Crissy Field Lagoon. A Female Belted Kingfisher skirted shoreline as it headed toward the Marina. At the Palace of Fine Arts an aerial battle ensued between 3 unsettled Great Blue Herons.
Meadowlark in flight.

A sleeker view.

Strolling.

"Craaaaack!"

The trio redetermines the pecking order.

Up from the depths, a Mallard feeds.
